Nutrition Programs at Westview
In accordance with HWDSB nutrition guidelines and policies, we offer students a range of nutritional support on a daily basis.
We offer a breakfast program Monday to Friday from 8:15-8:45 in our Learning Commons. All students are welcome to attend and the menu will vary from day to day. Some offerings are bagels and cream cheese, cereal with milk, yogurt and fresh fruit in addition to other items throughout the year. Students access the Learning Commons from the double doors under the overhang near the parking lot.
In addition to a daily breakfast, Westview also has a daily snack bin program. A bin of healthy snacks is provided to every classroom daily. An example of available snacks are yogurt tubes, cheese strings, crackers, granola bars, muffins, and fresh whole fruit like bananas, apples or pears.
We are able to provide this support for our students through the generosity of Tastebuds and PC Children’s Charities, both of whom provide funds throughout the school year to ensure these programs are a success.
All food provided meets the HWDSB nutrition policy.
